January 2017 Update

MCR Pathways Young Glasgow Talent (YGT) Campaign

It's been a busy start to the new year, as January breezed in bringing a flurry of activity. Manorview Hotels held a glamorous event at their award-winning venue, Boclair House Hotel, in Glasgow, where members of their hard-working team were recognised, Work started on their new Grand Ballroom at Cornhill Castle near Biggar in Lanarkshire, while the group as a whole continue to be awarded and celebrated in their industry. Meanwhile an exciting filming project also commenced.

Work continued with Comic Relief and it's always interesting to meet the projects supported by the charity in Scotland. It's great to see the work these projects do, the difference they make and it also reminds how important funding is to the survival of some charities.

It was a busy month for MCR Pathways and their Young Glasgow Talent (YGT) Programme. Mainly due to an exciting announcement confirming the support of Glasgow Council, who offered 10% of their workforce to the volunteer mentor scheme. This equates to around 1,800 extra volunteers. It's an important and welcome boost to the organisation, and it means they will be able to reach even more young people. A well attended press conference at St Roch's Secondary School in Glasgow earned some great coverage for MCR Pathways.
